"united we rise"

Came across this video today and thought it was interesting. I've been thinking about this sort of thing a lot lately, particularly with the history here, riding through metro stations with names like Eroii Revolutiei (Heroes of the Revolution). Thinking about in what we put our hope, whether a political system or ourselves, 'universal brotherhood' or 'unity' or God--and what we expect from that. "A world where science and progress will lead to all men's happiness," coming together "in the name of democracy."

It's true that we need kindness and gentleness. I'm also thinking of a quote by Will O'Brien: "When we truly discover love, Capitalism will not be possible and Marxism will not be necessary."

This is far from being fleshed out, and anyway I want to know what you think.
